Knowledge

Everyone holds his fortune in his own hands, like a sculptor the raw material he will fashion into a figure. But it’s the same with that type of artistic activity as with others: We are merely born with the capability to do it. The skill to mold the material into what we want must be learned and attentively cultivated.

–Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

There exists a form of power and intelligence that represents the high point of human capacity. It is the source of the greatest achievements and discoveries throughout human history. At the center of this power is a simple process that leads to mastery–one that is available to all of us. But to this day it is the exception to the rule that an individual embraces such a process. In most cases people are just simply unaware that such an approach to life is available to them.

People get the brain and quality of mind they deserve through their actions in life. Those who are passive build a mental landscape that is quite barren. It is espoused in our culture that genetics plays a major role in our lives. Recent discoveries in neuroscience are overturning beliefs that our brain is genetically hardwired. As it turns out we play the leading role in the development and quality of our brains. The capacity and potential is there for each of us.

Prior to any major insights or skills in any area of life, knowledge is the prerequisite. There are a number of ways to obtain knowledge. You will use them all. The slow systematic process of engaging a lifelong path to mastery is the richest and most rewarding life there is. To possess deep insights into an area of study, time and repetition are required. This may seem obvious, people talk of education and higher education all the time. However it is usually seen as something endured to get a job.  Once the degree is obtained most people think they’re learning is over.

By choosing the masters path and unleashing the intellectual giant within, we are able to participate with those who live at the extended limits of human potential.

The CEO is faced with some very unique challenges. In order to grow the business you must first grow as an individual. The many disciplines where knowledge and skill are required can be quite overwhelming. Marketing, sales, operations, human resources, leadership, strategy just to name a few. The CEO while not required to master each area must understand what to expect from each discipline in order to lead those responsible for results.
